We're back! Five days of garage sales, countless days packing, plenty of phone calls to the LA consulate and probably not enough bacon...we're back from the States and once again living in Jerusalem. This time for the long haul.
We packed 4 suitcases, 2 boxes and one very large carry on. There's no motivation quite like $200 per checked bag to make you really pick and choose what stays and what goes!
Anyways. I liked that quote up top, because it seems to really apply to where Kurt and I are in life right now. We have received equal amounts of encouragement and raised eyebrows in this venture and I'm sure there will be more to come. I thought maybe you all would like it too. I think it aplies to everyone at some point...or at least it certainly should. Right?
Please keep us in your prayers as we attempt to overcome jetlag and find an apartment. Right now it seems that finding a place to live in the same area as the congregation, at a price we can afford, will be impossible. Unless of course we are willing to negotiate on things like a roof or running water. (we're not)
I'm going to go make some coffee so that I can make it through the evening...that stuff is liquid grace in the midst of jet lag.
LIQUID GRACE I TELL YOU.

Welcome back to Israel! As we face the possibility of getting out of the Army (ie. security), the uncertainty is overwhelming. There is a lot of trusting and letting go going on in our hearts right now as we face the future. I'm glad for what you are doing and am excited to hear more about it, uncertainty and all!
